Lets make this summer a trendy one.
These are a few of the trends i'm loving right now, i'll definitely be wearing these this summer.
#1- Boho Headbands. Love them. I especially like the way Taylor matches hers with a classic flowy hippie-esque white dress, perfect for summer.
#2: Rompers! Rompers are cute, and a very simple way to look put together quickly. This one is the American Eagle Engineer Romper for $34.50. Available in sizes 00-18.
#3: Short Shorts! It's the season for short shorts. Perfect with a plain tee and cute flats or some metallic gladiator sandals, my favourite! These are of course, from American Eagle and are washed favourite cuffed short. $29.50, sizes 00-18.
#4: Loose fitted v-necks. I love these. White V-necks are my favourite because you can wear them with just about everything. It's super casual but you can throw on any type of accessory to make it more interesting! This is from American Apparel. It's the Unisex Organic Fine Jersey Short Sleeve V-Neck for $22.00.
#5: Blunt Bangs! Love these, especially with super long hair, and tousled waves like Vanessa Hudgens. Works great for girls with natural waves, it really gives you instant style and edge. For the summer, make sure they're long enought to pin back or twist to the side.

You know you love me...
Get The Look For Less.
Ever wanted to wear Blair Waldorf's collegiate wardrobe but didn't have the upper east side budget?
Here's my interpretation of the look for less. Like I said, Forever 21 is heaven so many of the outfits will be from there.
Here's the outfit I'm working with:
Lets start with the white shirt...
Scoop Tee this t-shirt is available at Forever 21 for $8.
Low V-neck cardigan from (yes, you guessed it...) Forever 21 for $19.80.
Pleated Tennis Skirt ($16.80, Forever 21) Not flattering for many but if you can pull off this look, go for it.
Striped Knit scarf (Forever 21, $9.80) This is a little different than Blair's scarf. This is knitted the one in Blair's outfit seems more like a navy blue silk tie or part of the shirt. This could work just as good, but may look a little more casual.
Knit Beret (11.50, Wet Seal)- Since the scarf is knitted I though a knitted beret would be best as well. This makes the outfit more casual, and more wearable. Less Constance Billiard more college cute and casual.
Stone Quilt tote ($34.80, Forever 21)- This bag is perfect for a student. It could carry a binder and a text book or so depending on the size of your book load. Good enough for in between locker visits.
Oh, and my favourite...
Pointed Toe T-Strap heels ($22.99, Payless)- What an amazing price. I love the T-Strap, so classic! Not quite what Blair is wearing but I feel it adds more flair to the outfit. Plus, a 3.5'' heel is still appropriate for a girl on the go.
XOXO Gossip Girl.

These are a few of my favourite things...
My current style favourites include...
1. Peacoats.
I own this exact American Eagle Outfitters one as well as a classic black trench from Gap. It's perfect over dresses and this one is perfect for a more casual yet put together look.
2. Gingham Plaid.
I'm always looking for plaid. Forever 21 is cheap but chic college student heaven. Trust me. Half my closet is forever 21. I have this dress in a black and white gingham. It looks great with black tights and some pointy toe boots that hit a couple inches below the knee. Comfortable and cute.
3. Cowboy Boots.
The older the better. I love a worn in cowboy boot. Cowboy boots are currently all over retail stores like Aldo and Forever 21 but I say, go vintage. You can get a great authentic leather pair for $25 and up at a vintage or secondhand shop.
4. Gold Bangles.
So, I definitely don't own this pair, but it's nice to stare at Dolce and Gabbana jewellery occasionally. I stack on 7-10 bangles very, very, often. Love the way they look, even if that comes with annoyed stares during test and exam time.
Large Handbags.
Again, Sadly, I don't own this Chloe bag. I do however own a similar style from Costa Blanca X, On sale for $25! It's perfect for shoving in binders, pens, lunch, and text books for class!

Fashion Mash, What??
This would be the beginning of my blogging adventure. As a college journalism student with aspirations of becoming the next Genie Becker (no joke) it was natural to start a fashion blog for enjoyment and experience. Really, this blog is just to post the crazy fashions I couldn't pull off without getting awkward stares on the city's public transit or the runway styles I could never afford, I'll settle with the admiration (for now). I'll also post some wallet friendly fashions for us practical girls.
The name "Fashion Mash" was just a random name I thought of that reflected my personal style. It really is all over the map. Why stick to one style when you can re-invent yourself every single day?
I'm looking forward to starting this blog. I spend so much time reading blogs like wornjournal.com and whowhatwear.com so I thought this would be fun!
Who knows, maybe someday I'll this will turn into the next Style Rookie!
